Everyone at our practice is committed to providing you with the very best in pet healthcare. Our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualification.
- Dugie Gemmill
- Clinical Director/ Veterinary Surgeon

Dugie graduated from Glasgow University in 1988 and after a spell in mixed and large animal practice, moved to Parkside in 1990 to be able to develop his surgical skills, in particular orthopaedics. He became a partner to David Murdoch in 1994 and became the leader of the practice in 2012.
Dugie is particularly interested in Orthopaedic Surgery and more recently in Laparoscopic Surgery too and was among the first vets in the UK to obtain a brand new qualification in the field (GPCert(Endo)).
He lives near Holywell with his two sons and their Staffie-Jack, Ghill......aka Dr Gilbert.

David joined Parkside as one of the original partners in 1979 after spells working at Glasgow and Liverpool universities as a lecturer in Gastroenterology. He is still one of the country's foremost authorities in canine gastroenterology and liver problems, accepting referral cases from other vets, and lecturing regularly at CPD events both in the UK and Europe.
David keeps himself busy away from work, spending time with his wife, three daughers, five granchildren and his constant companion, Foxy the dog!
- Mariana Feiler
- Veterinary Surgeon
Mariana graduated from Timisoara Veterinary University (Romania) in 2008 and has worked in a small animal practice since.
She joined the team in July 2018. Mariana is particularly interested in Feline Medicine, Veterinary Dermatology and Exotics.
She is married and has a son.
Mariana also has a 15 year old rescue cat called Alba.
- Hayley Ashton
- Head Nurse
- RVN A1
Hayley the Practice Manager can often be found helping out on the ground floor! Hayley started her career with Parkside as a trainee in 1994, and qualified in 1998. She progressed gradually to Head Nurse and Clinical Coach after becoming an A1 Assessor. She lives on the Wirral with her family, cocker spaniel Sam and two guinea pigs.
- Gemma Shaw
- Senior Qualified Veterinary Nurse
Gemma has worked at Parkside since August 2007. She gained her Animal Nursing Assistant qualification first, then progressed and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016. Gemma recently gained her Dental Nurse Qualification and Clinical Coach Status. She is hoping to train as an animal physiotherapist in the near future.
Gemma has a rescue dog called Bolt, a Yorkshire Terrier and a Budgie called Pablo.
- Beth Levell
- Qualified Nurse
Beth joined the Parkside team in 2011, she went on to complete her nursing training and qualified in 2016 becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys all aspects of her job and earlier this year became a Clinical Coach too. In her spare time she enjoys reading and cuddling her cat Remus, whose name comes from her favourite book series (Harry Potter) and who she adopted after he was brought into the practice injured.
- Lisa Depledge
- Student Veterinary Nurse
Lisa has been with Parkside since 2011. Initially she worked as part of the Wallasey Village branch reception team, before moving to the New Ferry branch to join the nurses and begin her two year Veterinary Nursing course. Lisa will become fully qualified in 2018.
Lisa lives on the Wirral with her two children, Lux the Tabby cat, Freddo the Leopard Gecko, Lem the hamster and most recently a rescue dog.
- Finlay Gemmill
- Student Veterinary Nurse
Having finished his A Levels in 2014, Finn joined the Practice team in October 2014. In 2016 Finn spent six months gaining valuable experience at a busy Hospital Practice in Yorkshire before returning to Parkside to begin his studies towards RVN qualification in the summer of 2017.
Finn is now in his 2nd year of College.
- Chanelle France
- Auxiliary Nurse
Chanelle joined the team at the beginning of 2018. Before this she did a year in agriculture 2011-12, then 3 years equine qualifications. From 2015 Chanelle did her Veterinary Care Assistant course before going on to work at Petmedics Referral Hospital. She is now looking forward to working towards her Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification, in the future.
Chanelle lives in Cheshire with her partner Alex, Acer the horse and Harry the dog. In her spare time she loves cooking, baking and going for long walks.

- Senior Receptionist
Jane, the Senior Receptionist, has worked at Parkside for six and a half years.
Jane and her family have 3 furry friends to keep them all busy. They have an Akita called Colonel, a chihuahua called Ernie and Yogi the cat.
- Louise Bayley
Louise joined the Parkside team as a Receptionist in February 2015. She lives on the Wirral with her husband and two children. When Louise isn't busy spending time with her family she enjoys dogsitting for friends.

- Administration Assistant /Receptionist
Before Chris joined the Practice in Feb 2018 she had careers in banking, hospitality and secondary education. While working full time at Mosslands School, Chris was a Speaker, Fundraiser and most importantly a Puppy Walker for Guide Dogs. Being a puppy walker means looking after, training and socialising puppies from 7weeks old, for approx 12 months. Chris puppy walked 8 Guide Dog pups, bringing her last one, Nico to Parkside with her. She lives in Bebington and has this year become a grandmother twice over.
